The System of Dr. Pagan

Gently Interactive Dinner Theatre
6th April 2011 / 7.30 p.m.

You might think this sort of thing is not for the faint-hearted or indeed the weak-stomached. And you would be right.

You are cordially invited to come and meet the keepers and nurses of Dr. Pagan's Institution for the Mentally Deranged. Join us for dinner and learn more about our home, our philosophy, our methods and our patients, enjoy demonstrations of music therapy, and take part in the vibrant experience of having dinner in the company of those whose business it is to understand the hidden depths of the human mind.

The System of Dr. Pagan is based on Edgar Allan Poe's intriguing but little-known short story The System of Doctor Tarr and Professor Fether about a traveller who visits an institution for the mentally deranged and receives a warm welcome and entertainment at dinner by the director and keepers of the institution.

It'll be up to you, the audience, to play the traveller. This will involve having dinner and listening to us, nurses and doctors, ramble on about how much we love working at Dr. Pagan's Institution for the Mentally Deranged.
