Imagine a country in Central Europe... A country where the weather is unpredictable, now freezing, now scorching. A place where everyone waits for something to happen, something other than their life. And in this Central European country, a magnolia suddenly starts growing. One day it puts out buds, and is soon aglow with beautiful, sweet-smelling flowers.
But when the Central European man goes back to the place where this wonder was discovered, approaching the tree full of hope and yearning, the fragrant flowers have all withered, and bare branches stab at the sky. A sadly true story.
Two dancers together, facing each other through almost the entire play. Half naked or in more and more layers of clothing, performing all degrees of love, from cold to hot. Awakening desire, ceaseless nagging, repulsion and distress, told in masterful dance: you cannot but love it.
